Invited by Hak Lae Lee, Chairman of Korea Pulp and Paper Industry Association and professor at Seoul National University of Korea, Prof. Zhao Chuanshan, Prof. Liu Yu and Prof. Yang Guihua of the Institute of Light Industry, and 7 others, traveled to Seoul, South Korea from October 24 to October 28, 2016. Participated in the 2016 Pan Pacific Pulp and Paper International Conference.
The five-day conference attracted more than 200 experts, professors and graduate students from all over the world to attend the conference. Internationally renowned experts Yuji Matsumoto of the University of Tokyo, Japan, Orlando J. Rojas of the Aalto University of Finland, and Hou-Min Chang of the University of North Carolina, USA, respectively, on the chemical structure of lignin and its reactivity, high value-added materials for nanocellulose The latest research progresses in the related research technologies of biomass refining and their respective teams conducted thematic reports. The participants in our hospital presented the latest research progress in their respective fields in oral presentations and posters, and also met with experts and colleagues from Korea, the United States, Japan, Finland, Australia, and other countries on new pulp and paper technology and biomass refining. There are extensive exchanges in such areas as new approaches.
Through this conference, the participants exchanged extensive talks with international counterparts, which not only broadened the research field of pulp and paper engineering disciplines in our hospital, but also met many outstanding experts and scholars in the field at home and abroad, and was the subject of pulp and paper engineering in our hospital. It lays the foundation for conducting international technical cooperation and exchange with key laboratories.
