According to the requirements of the Academic Affairs Office, our school organized teachers and students to apply for the 2018 State-level Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program. By the deadline of application, 9 sets of application materials were received, all of which were innovative projects. To inspect and guarantee the quality of the application, the school hired Wang Yan, Qu Jingran, and Du Dengxue, experts of the school supervision team, to form a review group to review the application materials, put forward the sorting conclusions, and put forward opinions and suggestions on the issues in the application materials; Ding Hongjie, the deputy director of the college, reported to the three experts on the development of innovative open experiment projects in our hospital.
Our institute has always attached great importance to the opening of experimental projects as an important teaching method for cultivating students' individualized development, improving practical ability and innovative spirit, and making full use of the favorable conditions for the high scientific research level and rich research resources of our teachers to transform research resources and advantages. And in the process of applying for talent cultivation, science and education integration and scientific research are promoted. The advantage of the innovative open experiment project is that in addition to the academic gains, the students have enhanced the emotions of teachers and students, deepened the students’ knowledge of the profession, and led teachers’ guidance into practice; at the same time, the participation of students has also promoted the research of teachers. The development of the work has resulted in a large number of scientific research achievements jointly completed by teachers and students; and in extension, some innovative open experimental projects have become pre-researches for the thesis projects, and have even become the preparatory work for the graduate student stage. Imagine that a student follows the tutor. From open experimental projects to thesis research, to postgraduate studies, several years of continuous research, its experimental research capabilities, scientific cognitive capabilities will be greatly improved. In addition to actively advocating and mobilizing teachers and students to actively participate in the innovation and opening of experimental projects, our institute also provided financial support. From the second semester of the 2016/2017 academic year, we will use high-level application-oriented professional construction funds in Shandong Province to apply for eligible projects. Regardless of whether it has been approved as a school-level or national-level project, the project is to be a hospital-level open experimental project, which will provide support for consumables expenses and support for the publication of results; consumables procurement will be handled by the staff of the Institute’s Experimental Teaching Center. The project team needs consumables within the funding quota. As long as the procurement list is provided, the procurement, reimbursement and other services are handled by specialized personnel, which greatly facilitates the work of the project team. In the next step, in conjunction with the construction and operation of key platforms, we will explore the establishment of fund projects for undergraduates and postgraduates in platform open-ended funds.
Experts have also put forward many questions on the application materials: if the budget is not reasonable enough, the difficulty of the project and the amount of experimental work are not appropriate; the selection of students is late (from the perspective of the implementation of state-level projects in recent years, it is difficult for fourth grade students to finish on time); The contents of the declaration are not detailed enough, normative, etc.
